Just wanted to send you a quick email to let you know what an amazing time we've been having. Everything has worked out perfectly. Please let the Peruvian Travel agency know how FANTASTIC Victoria, our guide, has been. She is so knowledgeable and has a lovely and warm personality. Herbert, our driver, has also been excellent. We have been blessed with great weather, all of the hotels have been 1st class. So many thanks for your efforts. This is an unforgettable trip that I would highly recommend.

We have returned from our amazing adventures in Peru and wanted to drop you a quick line to thank you for an amazing itinerary and such a well laid out holiday. While reviewing the itinerary before we left it certainly looked great but it is not till we have experienced it while talking other people about what they were doing etc that we could really start to appreciate just how well laid out this trip was. Many Thanks for a great itinerary.

S & M Hodges (Toronto)

The trip was a trip of a liftetime!

The guides were knowledgble and friendly, the other group members were fun and interesting, the acommodations were bar none, the sights were unsurpassed!

Thanks so much for navigating all the arrangements for this on our behalf.

We are going to have a hard time topping this one!

Micheline (Toronto)

I spoke to B.L. The whole group enjoyed every minute of their Galapagos expedition. There was no hitch, no flight delays, Everything was perfect.

Thanks again for all your help!
Veronika (Toronto)

We had a great trip -  Thanks very much.

i will send you some details in a bit - but i loved Guatemala the best. The guides, the people, the food, the hotels, the small villages we visited. all perfect.

Linda (Vancouver)

We had a wonderful time! The trip was so well organized! The Galaven worked out very well. The crew and guides were great, and of course the animals on the Galapagos were fascinating. We really liked the El Mapi Hotel near Machu Picchu. The guide in Lima (Fidel) was very well informed and made that a great day. We were all delighted with the trip (and the trip planning that you did).

Thank you very much,
Virginia (Seattle, WA)

Thanks Claudette, the trip was sooooooooooooo wonderful, the hiccup on the return trip was the only minor issue, and it wasn't a big deal. Thanks very much for all your help.

Just wanted to thank you for the stellar job you did in planning our trip both to Ecuador and Peru. First, the accommodations were absolutely superb – ALL of them, although the little boutique hotels were a special treat. Secondly, we were so fortunate to have such great tour guides and drivers – especially for only 3 of us. It seemed like we were touring with friends and their English was impeccable. We were always met on time, luggage was taken care of and all 3 of us felt positively pampered. The train ride was wonderful as were all the sites visited. If you like, I could comment on each individual guide, although all of them were very friendly, professional and knew the area and history of what we were looking at.

If you want more detail on any aspect of our 3 week vacation, let me know. I am now going to put some semblance of order to the 900 pictures taken.

Again, many thanks!! We’ll definitely recommend the trip to others.

Lana (Brandon, MB)

Just to let you know that our travel arrangements in Peru were superb - thank you so much. The guides were excellence, the hotels were amazing, and of course the sites were indescribable. It really was a once-in-a-lifetime trip, made so much easier because of your arrangements. Thank you so much.

We had a great time. The trip surpassed our expectations. We were particularly pleased with our dealings with Metropolitan Touring in Quito. They were very professional and their employees were extremely helpful and knowledgeable.

Our time in the Galapagos was fantastic. Tip Top II was an excellent choice. Good accommodation and a friendly and helpful crew. All in all a great holiday and one that we will recommend to our friends. Thanks for all your help.

Bill and Nancy (Winnipeg, MB)

Just a quick note to say thank you for organizing our amazing trip to the Galapagos. It was a once in a lifetime experience.

Ecuador is a great destination to visit, and I think a longer trip to South America will be on the cards in the future. Thanks again.

Robert & Margarita (USA)

Hello Claudette....just a quick note to thank you for handling the arrangements....our trip was wonderful and everything went smoothly.

William (Toronto)

Our trip was marvellous and memorable. The 7 days on The Beagle were a dream: excellent weather, a crew of 6 looking after 10 passengers, 6 Americans and 4 Brits, all compatible. The food was fresh and well-prepared and eating meals on deck was a treat.

I want to thank you for your help in arranging the trip and answering my many questions. I think about our experiences on the trip with great pleasure and Irwin does as well.

Doris (USA)

Our trip was fantastic. The service throughout was superb - on land and sea. The hotel was great, the Santa Cruz was excellent, the crew very professional. We were thrilled with absolutely everything and thank you for your great service.

Jill (Toronto)

I have just returned from my Ecuadorian holiday. From start to finish, it was a wonderful holiday. This, of course, is a reflection on the first class trip which you put together for our group. Thank you so much!

Sheila (Calgary)

This message is LONG overdue – I apologize. We had a fabulous trip! We absolutely loved the Galapagos and I’ve already given your contact information to several of our friends and acquaintances who are considering doing a similar trip. All the guides and staff for both companies/countries
were wonderful. Thank you for everything.

Kind regards,
Tricia (Calgary)

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you very much for your work in arranging our trip to Peru. We had a great time in spite of the disruptions to our itinerary. I am impressed by your prompt and efficient service in light of the blip in our trip.

Thanks very much and I look forward to working with you again in our travels to South America.

P.S.: By the way, do you also specialize in travel to other continents other than South America?

I want to thank you so much. Our trip was absolutely fantastic. Everything worked out far better than I had ever imagined. The drivers and guides who met us were incredibly punctual and capable. I had not expected such perfection. There was never a slip up or even a few minutes of lateness. The trip was incredibly well planned and well executed. We enjoyed every excursion and site. The guides were very knowledgable and enthusiastic about their area of expertise. I particularly found Carmen in Arequipa and Colca Canyon terrific. I had some altitude sickness there and she was a great help. The changes that we made for the Machu Picchu segment worked out perfectly. I thank you very much for rearranging things for us.

The Sanctuary Lodge was fabulous. Antigua Miraflores in Lima was great. Inkaterra was wonderful. All of our accomodations were excellent.

I can speak for all four of us when I tell you that you did a masterful job and made our trip an incredible adventure and a wonderful learning experience.

We will definitely contact you again when we next travel to South America.

C.B (Toronto)

We all had a wonderful time in Ecuador. The Galapagos were magical and we were all struck by the beauty of the islands and the flora and fauna. I, personally, was amazed by the lack of fear the animals exhibited toward people. No where else on earth can you get within a few feet of nesting birds or enormous sea lions. That is something to be deeply treasured.

We had a superb guide, a native man whose passion for his country was palpable. We all loved him. He had us up very early some days snorkeling and visiting the island attractions before the hoards of other tourists arrived. He knew the best places to snorkel with hammerhead sharks, sea turtles, penguins, sea lions and sea horses. That, in itself, was such a treat!

The yacht (M/Y Grace) was comfortable, the food very good and the staff very friendly. Thank you, too, for all your help with flights. We had a comfortable and hassel free trip there and back. Now I can't wait to return!

P.V. (Toronto)

were unexpected and very appreciated. We felt the entire organization was very professional, competent and thorough. The hotels you used were all excellent, with great staff, fabulous food, good locations--just great! Thank you for all your assistance with this trip---it was unbelievable---and we even timed it so we were not affected by the farmer's strike (we missed the cancelled trains by one day!)

Sharon (Canada)

We returned home yesterday after a simply fabulous trip. Thank you for all the work you did arranging the trip for us. We thoroughly enjoyed the boat, the food was excellent and the excursions wonderful. We loved seeing the animals on the islands and Geoff throughly enjoyed the snorkelling.

We also enjoyed our time in Quito; the hotel was wonderful and we loved the hacienda on the Avenue of the Volcanoes trip. Carole got some wonderful bargains at the leather place on the Otavalo tour and made me very envious and Geoff has been chided for not wanting to go on that particular tour.

Once again thanks for everything and for organising a very pleasant holiday.

Marian and Geoff (Australia)

Just returned from the "grand Peru trip" earlier today. We must show our gratitude to you for the superb arrangement and we've enjoyed a lot!! We will contact you next time if we are going to South America again.

C. Chan (Hong Kong)

my trip was fantastic! thanks for all the great planning and help you've given me. the galapagos trip was very good..... the service on the eclipse was fantastic. we saw other ships there, and we were all glad that we were on the eclipse.

G. Hung (Hong Kong)

Theresa called this morning to tell me about the trip, and the bottom line is that they were thrilled! Everything went perfectly and they simply couldn't fault a thing. They loved the hotels, train, sights and just enjoyed the trip from start to finish! She wanted me to to pass this along and to thank you. The Sol y Luna just blew them away - it was so beautiful. Thank you again for all of your hard work - it was a total success!

L. Brady (Canada)

Wanted to let you know the Galapagos trip was a great success, and that we recognize how much of that was due to your advice and action.

Mansion del Angel was a wonderful place to stay; the Chiva Express (which we'd never even heard of before talking with you) was an outstanding adventure - they took us to a cowboy ranch, a rose greenhouse, and right through the Devil's Nose, and the cruise on Galapagos Legend (again your idea) was not to be missed. You really guided us well (despite our hesitation) and we appreciate it.

I would be remiss if I did not also note the outstanding service provided by Metropolitan Tours. Throughout the trip they were superbly organized and always available to help. I do not believe we have encountered a better guide service anywhere. They seemed to understand how bewildered a tourist is and tried to remedy that in a calm cool way.

Finally, we are headed off to southern India on Jan 6 for five weeks and could use some help with local hotel arrangements, and local ground and air travel. I wonder if you might be able to recommend an India specialist travel agent who could help us out? Someone as good as you.

W. Yetman (Canada)

Peru was absolutely wonderful. Better than I could have imagined.

We loved everything about it. (although my husband didn’t actually like Puno all that much. It is a pretty grey, slightly depressing city, but with some interesting stops. I still think it is a worthwhile trip to take. The bus stops at many interesting places, and you really get a feel for the high plateau that way). I liked La Paz, but it is quite different, even from Peru.

So, I think I can honestly say, that the trip was perfect. If I could do it all over again, I would spend an extra day in Lima at the end. So many people had such bad things to say about Lima. We loved it. Of course, we were staying in a lovely residential area. I think it might have been nice to have stayed in Miraflores, at least for a few days.

One of our guides, Balthazar, from Cuzco, said that we had the best itinerary that he had seen. I think I agree with him. We met many people who were doing it too fast, especially the Machu Picchu/Cuzco part.

We took the bus from Cuzco to Ollantaytambo and then transferred to the train. This took far less time than the train itself, and we were up at Machu Picchu before most people got there.

(I know the Hiram Bingham sounds wonderful, but I am glad we did it the way you suggested.).

The stay at the Inkaterra was wonderful. What a beautiful hotel. We took the orchid tour in the morning and then walked through the market and took the bus to the small, but good museum just over the bridge. Worth a visit if you have the time.

We were the only people to get off at Ollantaytambo. We really liked the Sol y Luna. The people were so friendly and we had a lovely meal, and a massage, the spa is quite wonderful. Also, they did our laundry overnight for a very reasonable price, which as you know is a problem when you are away for a while.

MV AQUA - Absolutely fabulous. We were the first passengers: well, paying passengers, and our cruise was the first full week one that they had done.

If you were to advise people who asked whether they should take the 3 or 4 day cruise, I would definitely say the 4 day. It is a little more relaxed.

The guides are terrific, so knowledgeable, and the food is absolutely superb. We were so pleased with the whole week.

Thank you so much for all the work that you did to put this trip together.

We had a wonderful time.

L. Louis (Canada)

We are back from our trip and before too much time has passed, I wanted to tell you how perfect it was. All four of us loved our vacation and appreciated all you did to pull it together. The connections worked seamlessly and we felt that we had enough time in both Ecuador and Peru. Cutting out the "cushion days" in the original itinerary was a good idea for us (I know you were a bit concerned about that). The Eclipse was great -- not only the naturalists but our fellow passengers -- and the weather in the Galapagos was wonderful. The size of the boat was clearly important and 48 gave us lots of interesting people to meet and no long lines to get off the boat and into the pangas. We loved every minute of it. And Machu Picchu was truly magnificent -- both on our first day and when we trooped to the early, early bus to get there for sunrise on Saturday morning. The travel agencies you contracted with in both countries were efficient, helpful and knowledgeable. Everyone has the vouchers and information we needed. The transfer guides especially went out of their way to make our check-ins and outs easy and less stressful, including printing out our boarding passes in advance so we didn't have to get to the airports so early. And, we loved the Machu Picchu Pueblo -- as you said, a much better choice than the Sanctuary Lodge. All in all, it was great and we wanted to thank you very much.

Just wanted to let you know that my famiy had an absolutely fantastic time on our Galapagos trip. The Mary Anne is wonderful -- physical faciltiies, the crew (especially the captain, who was a true gentleman), the food, everything. Our naturalist guide was also superb, in fact perhaps better than Michael, the leader of my trip to the Galapagos 24 years ago who I thought could not possibly be surpassed (Michael is the one who referred your agency to me, by the way). The best part was that my wife, oldest child and I were snorkeling one afternoon and a penguin with the personality of a baby sealion swam up to us and played with us for about 10 or 15 minutes, truly remarkable as I am sure you know since these guys usually don't play like this.

D. Levere (USA)

Argentina was superb. We had such a fabulous time we are definitely planning on returning- hopefully next year all things being well. There are still places we would like to see - especially Mendoza and perhaps some of Uruguay. Our tour operators and guides were excellent in Bariloche, Calafate and Iguazu. Everyone was friendly, accomodating and very knowledgeable. Special cudos to our guides from the Aukache group in Bariloche. Los Notros was a unique and terrific experience. The mini trek on the glacier was outstanding and the following day we booked the all day boat excursion to the 3 glaciers. It was a wonderful trip and we would recommend it enthusiastically. One whole day at Iguazu is sufficient and that worked out very well for us.

H. Rosen (Canada)

Thank you so much for making all the arrangements for our trip to Ecuador and the islands. Everything went so smoothly! We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Guayquail and the guide and driver for the city tour were very good (as well as the hotel accommodations). The islands were even more spectacular than we expected and Celebrity certainly did an excellent job in all aspects. Now if the volcano on Isabella had erupted just a week and a half earlier!

Many, many thanks!

C. DuBrock (USA)

We are now safely back in the UK after a few days rest in Florida and this is a note to thank you for making all the arrangements for us, which all worked like clockwork. We never had any delays and all the Guides and the Transfers were very good polite and informative and the hotels very nice and comfortable. Again very many thanks from us both for making all the arrangements for us for a most memorable and enjoyable tour.

T. Angel (UK)

We had a marvelous time! Thanks for all the careful planning; it all went very smoothly and we were very happy with all of the tours and accommodations. It is nice to work with somebody who is a specialist in a specific region.
