Ecuador Jungle Lodges: La Selva Amazon Ecolodge

la selvaLa Selva Amazon Ecolodge is located in the heart of Ecuador’s Amazon Rainforest, on Garazacocha Lake near Yasuni National Park. The lodge originally opened more than 20 years ago. However, it was not until 2012 that it took on new life when it was totally overhauled to become a luxury lodge. Birdwatchers have long chosen La Selva for the variety of birds that have been found in this area. Onithological studies say there are more species of birds in this area than any other site in Ecuador, and more than both the entire US and Canada combined. La Selva is the closest lodge to the Napo Parrot Salt Lick. In addition to the numerous nature excursions, the lodge also has a spa and yoga retreat.
