M/V Plancius

Plancius was built in 1976 as an oceanographic research vessel for the Royal Dutch Navy. In 2004 she was completely rebuilt into a 114 passenger vessel. She is comfortable, but not luxurious, and is quite spacious. There is large open deck space for wildlife and scenery viewings, and if want to be inside you can still enjoy the views from the observation deck and bar. Many activities are offered on some departures; kayaking, hiking, snow shoeing, field camping, ski trekking and zodiac cruising and all equipment is provided.
