Located in the heart of the Amazon Basin and surrounded by ancient black-water lagoons, winding creeks and towering trees. A haven for nature lovers, birdwatchers and adventure seekers, Sacha Lodge provides comfortable accommodations, first-class meals and expert guides. One of Sacha's highlights is the 135-ft observation tower, where guests will have a magnificent view of the surrounding area. Other highlights include: the butterfly house, one of the largest butterfly farms in Ecuador, and the Yasum Parrot Lick, an exposed clay bank where brightly coloured parrots of several species gather in the morning. The guests at Sacha Lodge are divided into small groups. Each group is led by a native and an English speaking naturalist guide. A typical day at Sacha begins at sunrise or earlier when the rainforest's animals are most active. In the afternoon. excursions begin between 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM and often continue into the evening when the nocturnal insect and frog chorus begins. At night, forest walks and canoe trips often reveal creatures not visible during the day. All activities are spread out over a wide area and allow visitors to explore several distinct, but equally fascinating habitats. Sacha Lodge caters to people of all interests.
