NAPO WILDLIFE CENTER
Departs: Monday and Friday
The Napo Wildlife Center is located on 82 sq. miles of pristine Amazon Rain Forest within the Yasunì National Park. Situated on Anangucocha Lake, this is the newest lodge in Ecuador’s amazon region. Each of the 10 large cabanas have forest or lake views, king size or twin size beds, private washrooms with hot water, a ceiling fan, and 24 hour electricity. The buildings combine traditional architecture with a harmonious modern mixture. Cabanas have cool shaded terraces with inviting hammocks and ample space to relax and observe the surroundings. At the lodge you may be able to see a group of giant otters investigating near the lodge dock, perhaps even a large 13 ft. black caiman crossing the lake, or the graceful flights of blue and yellow macaws over the lodge area. Visitors and guides will tailor their excursions to take advantage of the highest peaks of activity and weather conditions in the forest. They will schedule their outings before dawn or at sunrise. Other features at the Napo Wildlife Center include a 60 ft. obserbation that offers a great view of Anangu Lake. A 35 minute motorboat ride away is a 125-foot high Canopy Tower.
